Exposition: Civilization has reached the point where people can do whatever they want. Technology grants them immortality, machines produce everything required for survival, and there is no need for a governing system. The goal of ensuring humanity's continued existence as been as good as achieved. With little to do, people constantly seek things to stay occupied with. There is one group of people who have dedicated their time to learn about the origins of the human race, which has long been forgotten. Everyone was forced to leave the solar system after a combination of nuclear wars and experimentation with complex technology poisoned the land. Cordell Edwards, the founder of the organization, wants to find Earth, to learn about the past, and find
Inciting Incident: After determining several possible locations, Cordell and his crew enter the ship, and prepare for the jump. The countdown finishes, and the explorers experience the familiar gut-wrenching feeling, and everything goes black for a few seconds.
Rising Action: Arriving on the planet, the group sees that the planet from which life began, and sees the poisoned, purple land. The planet was in chaos. Even after countless years, the mistakes of the previous inhabitants still rage on. Boulders are thrown off of hills in the windstorms, any protruding object is frequently struck by lighting. The seekers of history are disappointed.
Climax: Poking out from a dune, Cordell sights a head poking out. He goes on a chase, but the little boy is too fast. With almost superhuman reflexes, he dodges the bolts of electricity shot from Cordell's stun gun. Many more children show up, with primitive weapons.
Falling Action: The group retreats to the ship, and decides on what to do next. They decide to leave earth alone, and to see what happens to the population.
Resolution: Cordell, while not having found answers to his questions, decides that forgetting parts of the past is inevitable.
